This is usually a security issue set by your host which limits the use of the getimagesize() PHP function used by the theme. They have set the allow_url_fopen and allow_url_include PHP directives settings off. This is particularly an issue when using 1and1 host. To get around this, either of two ways you can do:

Basically, you just create a text file with a filename of “php.ini” and save it in the main directory of your WordPress install (this is along wp-content, wp-admin, wp-includes folders). And its content should have the following:
